Preparing Your Required Documents

A complete, correctly prepared document set is the single biggest factor in a smooth residence permit application — under Law No. 6458 and its Implementing Regulation.

What Must Be Included

The standard checklist under Law No. 6458.

The Implementing Regulation of Law No. 6458 sets out the minimum document requirements for every residence permit application. Our checklist covers the standard set — plus anything specific to your grounds for applying.

Foreign document note: Documents issued outside Turkey — such as marriage certificates for family applications — must bear an apostille under the Hague Convention, or be legalized by a Turkish consulate, and accompanied by a certified Turkish translation. Most civil documents are only accepted if issued within the last 6 months.

Optional but recommended documents include an employment letter, university enrollment letter, or property purchase invoice. These aren't always mandatory, but they can meaningfully strengthen a borderline application. We advise on what's worth including for your situation.
